Department of Clinical Development
Kanazawa University Hospital

The Innovative Clinical Research Center, Kanazawa University (iCREK) was established in February 2013 by reorganizing the Clinical Trial Management Center, aiming at “Research and Development for the Advancement of Clinical Medicine” as stated in the basic policy of our hospital. Following Professors Shuichi Kaneko, Shinji Nakao, and Seiji Yano, Toshinori Murayama was appointed as the 4th Director of the Center in April 2017.

With the support of Kanazawa University and its affiliated hospital, iCREK completed construction of a new building in 2016, and in May 2017, the Cancer Research Promotion Division was newly established, expanding the organization to include 10 divisions and 1 secretariat. The Center now has a total of more than 40 staff members who provide project management of research seeds, study management for clinical trials, support for study design planning, protocol development, study drug management and clinical research coordination, registration and data management, statistical analysis, monitoring and auditing, intellectual property management, cell processing, clinical application of basic research seeds in collaboration with the Cancer Research Institute, and education for researchers. All of us at iCREK are committed to the development of Kanazawa/Hokuriku-based medical technology, and we look forward to your continued support and encouragement.
